May 2015 Fishing Report: Palm Beach, Singer Island, Palm Beach Shores

Welcome to the May deep sea fishing charter forecast for Palm Beach, Singer Island and Juno Beach Florida. The KDW tournaments will start to take over the weekends in May and Dolphin will be top on the list. This time of year the weed lines will start to form offshore. We’re not talking 3 miles….more like 15 miles, so if your chasing Dolli tails, push the throttle down. Don’t stop until you see something good to fish on. If you’re looking for the tournament winner, world renowned Dolphin slayer Capt. Willis from sailfish marina says to stop at the thicker part of the weed line, put out your chum bag and wait. “Let them come to you.”

If you’re looking for the monster Wahoo, hit the water before sunrise. High speed trolling is the key. Speeds of 8 knots to 12 knots will work the best. Tournament champion Capt. Randy suggests you troll a black and red Islander on a horse Bionic Ballyhoo. Good luck!

If you’re more interested in the smoker Kings, stay shallow. Big kings roam the reefs looking for their next meal. Waters from 40ft to 60ft produce big kings. Big bait is a must. Large gogs or runners will keep the smaller snakes from messing with your bait. Stinger hook is a must! Also, don’t forget to load up on ice. May is a hot month and lack of ice will cause your fish to lose weight. Well, good luck and see you at the winner board!
