February 2018 Fishing Report: Palm Beach, Singer Island, Palm Beach Shores

Welcome to the Coastal Angler magazine fishing report for February. We had cold weather in January which produce some really good fishing for our area and I expect that February will continue to be good fishing. Strong winds and rough seas seemed the daily menu last month, but I believe we are past the worst of it. The freezing conditions have push some really great fishing down south. Along the beach you can expect Spanish Mack’s, large Schools of Jacks with a occasional, Pompano and Permit to be found between the Breakers and the end of the singer island condos.

For the offshore guys keep your eye out for the full moon and get those Wahoo rods ready. Along with great Hoo fishing there will a lot of Sails in our area making the migration South. Kite fishing will produce the most action, but just flat lining a live Goggle will work too. If your looking to feed the family, the deep water Wrecks will hold a lot of Vermillion Snapper and a few Groupers. We use Cut squid on our charters. They seem to stay on the hook when dropping down. Remember it’s 5 per person limit. Good luck!
