February fishing report

Welcome to the February Coastal Angler magazine fishing forecast for the water off Palm Beach, Singer Island and Juno beach.

Finally, the cooler air has pushed the fish down the coast and the fishing has picked up. Offshore guys: you’re going to find Sailfish and Dolphin on the surface, but it's the bottom that will be on fire! Huge Muttons and monster Porgies will be lurking deep looking for something to eat. Also, Vermillion Snapper will be in the mix. On the days with a big swell you will find them on the first reef; the Kings will start to show up. When you’re bottom fishing make sure to have a flat line out. Fish on!!

The inshore bite along the beach will be productive with Cobia, Jumbo Jacks and Spanish Macks all heading south and ready to bite the hook. Don't be afraid to cruise along the beach sight fishing. Only stop when you see something good to fish on. It still has been slow on the live bait front.. If you need live bait, best to contact the bait boys on VHF 68  They will save you a lot of time and frustration.. trust me. Good luck and tight lines!!!
