May fishing report

May is here and so are the fish. This is the time of the year when the seas start to calm down and the palegics start migrating north. Smoker kingfish will move in and cruise the 80ft reefs. A live gog or blue runner will get the job done. The big kings eat big bait. We have landed 50lb plus kingfish on 5lb runners. You definitely need to put a few singer hook in a bait this size. Bump trolling a couple big baits will produce big fish. Don’t be surprised if a Wahoo comes into the spread. Good luck! For the offshore guys.. May is a good time to land big migrating Dolphin. Trolling or live bait will get them to the hook. Keep a ear on the reports to the south. If you don’t know any anglers fishing 50 south, link up with Reel Intense Charters FB or the Gram.......Reel Intense Fishing. We post almost Every day, and if you see dolphin on our page, know that those fish are heading north. You may have to take a day off work and fish asap. This info doesn’t last long. Another option is Blackfin tuna. We caught some nice fish last May off the Breakers Hotel out in 200ft of water. They love the smaller live bait, like sardines or thread fins. Light leader is a must, fluorocarbon works best. Tight lines!
